Sometimes it is necessary to sit down in life so that we can contemplate the storm around us; for it is the act of sitting that we are permitted to hear the silence. Snow does that for us. It demands that we pause and sit. It covers our filth and our past. It blankets us with the purity of a new beginning and a fresh hope. Years ago, while the country of Sierra Leone was being torn apart by war, God had a little one in mind whose name would become a symbol of hope to a young missionary who witnessed the force of brutality in that nation…little Sierra would be born of and through him.
