I was upstate visiting my son and his wife this past weekend and needed to stay a few extra days due to a snowstorm that had buried Long Island. While I was there I decided to take a walk with my camera. 24 inches of snow had just blanketed the earth and there was a stillness of the land that can only occur when everyone is immobilized. White is a beautiful color, in that it produces a freshness and a purity that no other color can produce but in and of itself it’s just that… it’s just white, it is devoid of any pigmentation or color. As I looked over my shoulder I saw this red barn and I thought about life. I thought about people. I thought about colors, not just objects of color but human beings, beautiful human beings of all different shades, created by God, created to bring diversity and beauty to this world. The red barn shouted at me today and I am so glad that it did!
